How To W.A.H. Succesfully

People who are tired of working 9-5, people who have families, etc have decided to work from home, but they either don't know how to start and/or how to keep working from home successfully. Working from home is complicated, so I put together this post to help you work from home successfully.

  • Create a Work Space/Office- Make sure you have a work space that is for you only. Keep distractions, loud noises, etc. outside of the work space (dogs, kids, adults). Having this space with help keep business and family running together.

  • Work regular hours-  Working regular helps keep your work at a minimum and keep your focus. This would help you form a schedule.
  • Take a Lunch break- Taking a lunch break will help you regain focus and tend to the things around the house, if you wish.
  • Create a schedule- Creating a schedule will help keep your life in order with work, even though you work from home. Stick to the schedule even if you work when you want.
  • Remember to get out of the house- Remember to get out of the house. Just because you work from home doesn't mean that after work you should go downstairs and watch TV, it's like backwards from working in a public place. Instead of coming home from work, get outside from work!
  • Stay Professional- Just because you work from home doesn't mean you can lay around in your pj's all day because you have no dress code. Studies have proven that the better you dress, the better your attitude, which is extremely helpful with customer service jobs.
Creating an office
A great office has functionality and is comfortable.

-Invest in a good chair since you will be spending a lot of time it, it should support your back and be adjustable.

-Give yourself a view of outside, paint the room light, airy colors, and use a room with multiple windows.

-Make sure you use a room with a landline spot incase that will be a requirement of your job, also, Make sure you have a surge protector (you don't realize there useful until you need it).

-Keep your technology up to date and your room clean and organized.

-Keep inspired- Put a shelf of photos, knick-knacks, etc.

-Invest in a nice desk, preferably an adjustable one, but a sturdy one with draws is just as nice.
